INGREDIENTS (for 1 serving):
6 oz Ground Beef
2 tsp CHAR CRUST® Southwest Chipotle
1 Onion Roll
1 Yellow Onion
1 Slice of Swiss Cheese
1 Leaf Green Lettuce
1 Leaf Radicchio Lettuce
1 Tbsp Butter
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
INSTRUCTIONS:
Create crispy caramelized onions: Coat the bottom of the pan with olive oil. Heat the pan on medium high until the oil appears to shimmer.
While oil is heating, slice the onion as thinly as possible. You’ll need about three slices per burger.
Separate the onion rings.
Add the onions to the pan, stirring to coat with the oil.
Spread the onions out evenly over the pan, stirring occasionally, until the onions turn deeply brown and start to become crispy.
Remove from pan and drain onions on paper towel.
Return pan to burner over medium heat.
Butter the cut sides of the burger bun, and place buttered side down in pan.
Cook for a minute or two, until bun has browned. Set aside.
Hand-form burger patty, pressing the center of it to create a well (this will help the burger cook more evenly).
Dredge the burger in CHAR CRUST®, so all surfaces are coated. For cooking, you can broil, grill, or pan-sear the burger.
First sear one side, then flip to sear the other side. Flip back to original side and cook for another minute or two, then flip again.
Lay a slice of Swiss cheese on the burger, and continue cooking until desired preference is reached, and cheese starts to melt.
Assemble burger, placing lettuce on bottom, then burger, then onions on top.
